Manhattan Beach Home

Originally built in 1925, this Southern California beach home was our clients’ dream long before they purchased. When it finally went on the market, the interior was unsalvageable, so they bought the property and we tore it all down with the task of rebuilding the exterior as it once was and designing an interior with a modern look and contemporary features.

To replicate the original facade, we found craftsman plasterers who could capture an authentic finish with hand trowel techniques. We individually hand painted and then washed antique bricks to mimic a weathered whitewash look.

It was our first project that called for a home elevator because our clients wanted a self-sufficient space on the top floor from which they could enjoy an uninterrupted view of the Pacific Ocean. It’s complete with a laundry room, full-service kitchen, breakfast nook and dining room, home theater, office, main bedroom with two primary bathrooms and a guest suite.

Our interior selections cultivate a modern yet tranquil seaside vibe. Calming blues and nautical accents bring a relaxed lightness to the luxurious, comfortable furnishings and fixtures to create an elegant and deeply livable space.
