Erin King – Principal

Erin King’s love for people and design is what makes EKID unique. For Erin, it is about creating a trusting relationship with every client with thorough communication and genuine curiosity. Erin prides herself on exacting attention to detail. Her hands touch every aspect of each project, from the initial site visit to installation day. Erin leverages her expert training in interior architecture with years of experience designing personalized spaces to achieve a distinct balance between historic and contemporary influence.

Erin studied at California College of the Arts, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Architecture. She honed her technical talent at the global design and engineering giant HO+K, before transitioning to high-end residential work with Rebecca Bradley Interior Design. In 2012, Erin took the tools she acquired through collaboration and founded Erin King Interior Design.

Claire Lickford – Senior Designer

Before applying her project management prowess at EKID, Claire Lickfold was a color consultant at the UK’s legendary Farrow & Ball. There, she developed her keen eye for light, texture, and tone. She went on to sharpen her logistical skills at the California interiors firm Cathrine Macfee, where she learned to navigate complex design challenges. Her work leverages her education in contemporary fine art and a lifelong love of design in all its forms.
 
Claire blends rigorous project management with an intimate, collaborative design process driven by a focus on client experience. She embodies a hands-on design philosophy that honors quality materials and the unique needs of each and every client.

Julie Russell – Junior Designer

Julie Russell’s love of all things art drew her into life-long contact with various mediums. Her interdisciplinary visual art degree from the University of Washington and experience working at a cooking school, The Pantry in Seattle, prepared her to make things beautiful in two and three dimensions. After years of sharpening her chops as a prop stylist on commercial photo shoots, she decided to create lasting spaces that wouldn’t disappear when production wrapped.
 
Following a serendipitous meeting with Erin, Julie instantly gelled with the grounded, people-focused values at EKID. She now supports the team by treasure-hunting materials and establishing the team’s LA presence—wrangling vendors and developing lasting relationships with contractors and clients alike.

Cassandra Jerrems – Intern

Cassandra Jerrems is a Santa Monica native with a lifelong love for the whimsical shapes of LA’s Googie architecture. With a passion for preservation and a flair for mid-century design, she pivoted from a lab work and nutrition science career equipped with the problem-solving know-how essential for bringing any space to life. Cassandra contributes her skills to the EKID team with meticulous drafting and rendering support. Her passion for creating lovable, livable homes is the heart of her work.
